Ralph Leon Hazelwood, 74, of Stanleytown, Virginia, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, August 9, 2023, at Kindred Hospital in Greensboro, North Carolina. He was born on March 21, 1949, to the late John Hazelwood and Virginia Pauline Foley Hazelwood. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Dorothy Foley, and his brother, Earl Hazelwood.

Ralph was of the Baptist faith and served in the United States Air Force. Ralph enjoyed working with his hands, doing electrical and plumbing work, spending time with his family and friends, sitting on his porch talking to neighbors, playing golf, and playing sudoku. Ralph also adored his fur baby, Binki.

Ralph is survived by his wife, Audrey Hazelwood; Sons, John Curtis Hazelwood of the home, Michael Hazelwood of South Carolina, and Tony Hazelwood of Bassett, Virginia; His sister Brenda Bower of Charlotte North Carolina; Four grandchildren, Shanna, Faith, Dylan, and Seth Hazelwood; Great-Grandchildren, Damion, Clinton, Leon, and Deliah; along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and other family and friends.

A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, August 15, 2023, at 3:00 PM at Bassett Funeral Service Chapel with Pastor Don Reynolds officiating. Burial will follow immediately after the funeral service at Blackberry Baptist Church Cemetery, with military honors. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
