Obituaries

Rebecca Marie Fulcher, 79, of Bassett, VA, passed away peacefully on Monday, August 14, 2023, at Lewis Gale Hospital in Salem, VA. She was born on May 16, 1944, to the late Jesse W. Fulcher and the late Irene Brim Fulcher. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother-in-law, George Carter Minter, Sr.

Rebecca grew up in the Bassett Pentecostal Holiness Church; she was one of the pianists. She was a member of the Collinsville Pentecostal Holiness Church, also a member of a gospel singing group, and a member of the Red Hat Charmers of the South Side and Queens Council of Virginia. She retired after 57 years of service at Bassett Furniture Industries.

Rebecca is survived by her sister, Juanita Minter; nephew George C. Minter Jr.; and niece Angela S. Minter.

The funeral service will be Thursday, August 17, 2023, at 11:00 a.m. at the Collinsville Pentecostal Holiness Church in Collinsville, VA, with Pastor Kevin Paitsel officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the funeral services at the church. A burial will follow immediately after the service at Roselawn Burial Park.
