Teddy R. Woods, 61, of Patrick Springs, VA, passed away on Saturday, February 3, 2024. He was born on October 10, 1962, in Danbury, NC, to the late Hassell Thompson Woods and Shirley Ann Ashburn Woods. In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Jesse James Woods and Glassie Woods; his maternal grandparents, Archie Ashburn and Lena Layman; and his nephew, Brian Kevin “B.K.” Roberts.

Teddy enjoyed watching NASCAR even though he would fall asleep before they could say, "Gentlemen, start your engines." He was known for collecting baseball caps. When he was working as the assistant warehouse manager at Lester Building Supply, he would make sure to ask any new business for a cap to add to his collection. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends; he loved picking at his grandkids, which led them to give him the name “Grouch!" He was also known by many by the nickname “Teddy Bear!”

Teddy is survived by his wife of 27 years, Mary Deal Woods; his mother, Shirley Ann Ashburn Woods; three sons, Dustin Woods, Barry Turner, and Henry White (Emily); one daughter, Sabrina Adkins (Steven Tucker); seven grandchildren, Andrew, Isabelle, and Elyssia Turner, and Aiden, Nevaeh, Brooklynn, and Makenzie Adkins; one brother, Kevin Woods; three sisters, Wanda Rochte (Jeff), Dee Knight (Cecil), and Terrie Hazelwood; and a host of nieces, nephews, other family, and friends.

The family will receive family and friends on Thursday, February 8, 2024, at the Bassett Funeral Service Chapel from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. The funeral service will take place at 2:00 p.m. at the Bassett Funeral Service Chapel, with Pastor Freddie Bonds officiating. Burial will take place immediately after the service at the County Line Church of God of Prophecy.
