Martinsville Sheriff’s Deputy Reva Keen has filed her response late to a civil suit filed by city council member Aaron Rawls, and asked the court to accept it, because she was initially denied legal counsel through her employer.
Keen escorted Rawls from a regular meeting in April, she said, at the direction of the city manager and the mayor.
Both the mayor and the city manager have denied initiating Rawls’ ejection.
