Glinda and Elphaba will be back in action on theater screens in June.
The original Wicked film will return to theaters in the U.S. and Canada for one night only on June 4. And along with that screening, there will be a “special first look” at the trailer for the sequel, Wicked: For Good. In a promotional video, Cynthia Erivo says, “We know you’ve been waiting for this, and it’s finally coming.”
Ariana Grande adds, “You will be changed … “
“For good,” Cynthia finishes.
There’s no word on whether or not the “first look” will also be online, or anywhere else in the world. Wicked: For Good opens in theaters Nov. 21.
This is the second piece of big Wicked news this week: We learned Tuesday that Ariana and Cynthia, along with “special guests,” will star in a Wicked “event special” on NBC and Peacock this November.
Get ready for a “whole new world.” A seventh Disney destination is coming to Abu Dhabi.
The Walt Disney Company CEO Bob Iger made the major announcement Wednesday on ABC’s Good Morning America, describing it as “the most technologically advanced theme park that we’ve ever built.”
“I am excited for the UAE and Abu Dhabi. Bringing a Disneyland to a land in the world is, I think, a big deal and it makes a big statement and it’s just a great moment,” Iger said.
A new chapter of Disney storytelling will rewrite a land known for its architecture, culture, coastlines and desert. Excitement is already brewing in Abu Dhabi, the capital of the United Arab Emirates.
“We’ve decided that we want to build a very modern Disneyland,” Iger continued. “It will obviously incorporate a lot of our intellectual property and some of the typical stories that we tell in our theme parks.”
Disney’s new theme park will be located on Abu Dhabi’s Yas Island, about 8,400 miles away from Anaheim, California – the site of the first Disneyland, which opened in 1955.
“You start thinking about what is possible, actually envisioning a castle rising up, in this case, from the sand, and also being on the water,” Iger said.
“We haven’t decided everything that will go into it but we do know it will be anchored by a castle,” Iger continued. “And again – the modernization that is Abu Dhabi – the castle will be the first real modern castle that we built.”
Iger said the selection of Abu Dhabi as the next Disneyland site was a key decision.
“The UAE and Abu Dhabi is a crossroads of the world,” said Iger. “This is a hub in many respects but also, because it is located where it is, it’s accessible to so many different regions, places where we typically have only scratched the surface in terms of attendance to our parks.”
Disney’s new theme park has been in the works since 2017 but plans crystalized after Iger visited the region last year and discovered there was already a lot of excitement surrounding Disney.
Disney is partnering with Miral, the operators of world-class immersive experiences and attractions in Abu Dhabi, to bring the new theme park to life. Miral will oversee the building and development of Disney’s resort.

The Hollywood premiere of FUBAR season 2 was a family affair for Arnold Schwarzenegger on Wednesday night.
The actor’s family came out to support him ahead of the release of the show’s second season on Netflix.
Arnold was all smiles as he posed for photos with his sons Christopher Schwarzenegger and Patrick Schwarzenegger, daughters Christina Schwarzenegger and Katherine Schwarzenegger, and son-in-law Chris Pratt.
Arnold shares Christopher, Patrick, Christina and Katherine with ex-wife Maria Shriver.
The Terminator star also shared a moment with his son Joseph Baena, his son with Mildred Baena.
“Go watch my dad do what he does best,” Baena wrote in the caption of an Instagram post Thursday, alongside a photo of him and his father.
Arnold’s current partner, Heather Milligan, was also in attendance at the event. The actor previously opened up about his relationship with Milligan in a 2023 interview with People.
The star-studded event was also attended by the FUBAR cast, including Monica Barbaro, Milan Carter, Fortune Feimster, Travis Van Winkle, Fabiana Udenio, Aparna Brielle, Guy Burnett, Carrie-Anne Moss and Barbara Eve Harris.
According to a logline for the series, FUBAR follows Luke Brunner (Arnold), a veteran CIA operative who was on the verge of retirement.
“After his last mission in saving another operative — who just so happened to be his daughter — he’s back and face to face with new villains,” the logline continues. “This is an old flame from Luke’s past who threatens to destroy the world…if she doesn’t destroy his life first.”
FUBAR season 2 is available to stream now on Netflix.
Amy Poehler is reuniting with Parks and Recreation creator Mike Schur for a new comedy series.
The duo are collaborating on the upcoming series DIG for Peacock. Schur and Poehler will executive produce and co-write the pilot episode for the new series, with the latter set to star in the show as well.
DIG follows “four women working at an archeological dig in Greece” who “are at wildly different crossroads in their lives,” according to its official synopsis. “When the team uncovers a long-buried secret with the potential to rewrite history, they find themselves at the center of a high-stakes international conspiracy.”
The show is based on the bestselling novel Excavations by Kate Myers, who will also serve as an executive producer on the project.
This marks the first collaboration between Poehler and Schur since Parks and Recreation ended in 2015. Both creatives have overall deals with Universal Television and have long ties with NBCUniversal, going back to their time at Saturday Night Live working as a cast member and a writer, respectively.
It will be Poehler’s first ongoing role in a live-action series since she played Leslie Knope on Parks and Recreation. Schur’s wife J.J. Philbin will also write and executive produce on DIG, marking her first time working with Schur on a half-hour series.
