BZA denies request to reopen racetrack

The Henry County Board of Zoning Appeals denied a request by Miller Brothers Racing earlier this week to reopen the Oak Level Raceway in Henry County.

Most of the people at the hearing were in support of the dirt track reopening its doors, but neighbors said the loud noise, trash, and stirred-up dirt created until midnight on weekends and practiced throughout the week was more than they could take.

The track had been closed for 19 years.
