Obituaries

Arnold Russell McKinney of Ridgeway, VA, formerly of Jackson, Ohio, went home to be with the
Lord, on Wednesday, November 15, 2023, after a short illness surrounded by his family. Arnold
was born December 12, 1938, to Daniel Boone McKinney, Jr. and Matilda Jane McKinney. He
was one of seven children.

Arnold was married to Mary McKinney of Jackson, Ohio for 17 years and they remained close
friends. He is survived by their three daughters, Debbie (Mark) Walters of Jackson, Ohio,
Melanie (Mike) Kalinowski of Madison, NC, and Candi (Butch) Moore of Jackson, Ohio, Eleven
grandchildren, Mark (Karly) Walters, Dustin (Mercedes) Walters, Devin (Ashley) Walters, Misty
(Jojo) Mbenga, Valorie (Andrew) Powell, Byron Conley, Daniel (Katherine) Kalinowski, Josh
Kalinowski, Derek Moore, Sheldon (Kaylee) Moore, Megan Moore (AJ Meldick), 31 great
grandchildren, his close friend and neighbor Juan Elias, and several nieces and nephews.
Arnold was preceded in death by his mother Matilda, and his father Daniel, his siblings
Margaret, Roy, JD, Garnett, Agnes, and Wanda.
Arnold was a veteran of the United States Air Force. His career was in injection molding. After
retirement he worked as a security guard at Morehead Hospital.

Arnold loved Jesus. His pride and joy were his daughters and his family. He loved them all
deeply and he made sure they knew it. He loved fishing, hunting, writing songs, singing, telling
stories, and he loved his jean jackets and cowboy boots.

2 Corinthians 5:8 We are confident, I say, and willing rather to be absent from the body, and to
be present with the Lord.

Hospice of NC 336-360-6436 or Hearing Loss Association of America.

Celebration of life services will be held at Roselawn Chapel Funeral Home, 103 Clearview Drive,
Martinsville, VA 24112 on Monday, November 20, 2023, 12:00pm with visitation at 11:00am.
