Obituary For Barbara Lewis Williams

Barbara Lewis Williams, 96, of Rocky Mount, VA passed away Friday, January 12, 2024, at Fork Mountain Adult Home, Rocky Mount, VA. She was born October 25, 1927, in Martinsville, VA to the late Elwell Otis Lewis and the late Virginia Booker Lewis. She was married to the late Carroll Noland Williams.

She worked many years for DuPont in Martinsville, VA where she was a Spinner Machine Operator. Barbara left Dupont for a more important job of raising a family. When her children were grown, she went to work for Henry County Public Schools in the cafeteria at Rich Acres Elementary School for several years, a job she truly loved. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Martinsville and a long-time member of Fontain Ruritan Club.

Mrs. Williams is survived by her sons, Robert Carroll Williams (Anita Slaughter) and Michael Otis Williams (Lisa Cobbler); grandchildren, Melissa Williams Walls (Billy J), Ashley Williams Crigger, Andrew Noland Williams, and Sonny Aaron Williams, as well as great-grandchildren, Austin Michael Walls, Colin Tyler Walls, Kenzie Saige Crigger, and Harley Aiden Walls.

Visitation will be held from 1:00 – 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, January 17, 2024, at Norris Funeral Services, Martinsville Chapel. The funeral will be at 2:00 p.m., following the visitation, also at the Martinsville Chapel of Norris Funeral Services, officiated by Rev. Matt Dalton. Burial will follow the funeral service at Roselawn Burial Park, Martinsville.

The family would like to express many thanks to the staff of Fork Mountain Adult Home for the excellent care and love given to Barbara during her time there.
