Obituaries

Beatrice Ann Gravely, 67, of Martinsville, Virginia, entered her heavenly rest Thursday, May 1, 2025. She was born August 17, 1957, in Martinsville, Virginia, to Veola Gravely Brown and the late Calvin Brown.

She was of the Christian faith and attended Galilean House of Worship. Beatrice graduated from Laurel Park High School in 1975 and later attended Patrick Henry College. Her work ethic was exceptional and it was evidenced by her dedication to her job as a lab tech at Martinsville Memorial Hospital. One of her favorite memories was of singing in the youth choir. Not only did she enjoy music, but she could often be found planting flowers and loved the beauty they brought to everyone. Beatrice had a deep love for her family and each one of them were blessed to know her.

Left to cherish her memory are her loving husband, Melvin Gravely; mother, Veola Gravely Brown; sons, Jason Gravely( Tiffany) and Jonathan Gravely; sister, Shirley Adams (Winfred); and brother, Raymond Brown.

The funeral will be held Wednesday, May 7, 2025, @ 1:OO PM at Wright Funeral Service Chapel with Bishop Michael Penn officiating. Interment will follow at Carver Memorial Gardens. Visitations will be held one-half hour prior to the service and Tuesday, May 6, 2025, from 2:00-5:00 PM. The family will receive friends and extended family at 344 Turner Ashby Road in Martinsville, Virginia.
