Obituaries

Christine Winifred Smith Curtis, 87, of Martinsville, Virginia, passed away Monday, November 27, 2023 at SOVAH Health of Martinsville. She was born December 28, 1935 in Gresham, Oregon, to the late Herman Smith and Christine Elvira Peterson Harper. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Peggy Brown; sister, Charlotte Bowman; and brother, Bill Lord.

She had been employed at Tyson Foods for 10 plus years; and was very proud to earn her high school GED. She enjoyed quilting and baking (she made the best Amish bread). She loved to spend her Saturdays visiting yard sales and flea markets. She enjoyed traveling and sightseeing, and visiting her granddaughter and other family members.

Christine is survived by her daughters, Debbie Touchstone, Cynthia McKinley, Lori Brown and Tammie Brown; sons, Raymond Enew, Robert Curtis, Richard Brown and Randy Brown; 17 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.

All services will be private.
