Obituaries

Christopher “Donald” Wingfield, 62, of Bassett, Virginia, passed away on January 7, 2024, at Sovah Health-Martinsville. He was born on September 17, 1961, to the late Orvill Wingfield and Viola Walker Eanes in Martinsville, Virginia. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, Ronnie D. Wingfield, and one sister, Judy R. Farley.

Christopher was of the Baptist faith. He was a graduate of Patrick & Henry Community College. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, and spending time with his great nieces, Stella, Anna, Callalei, and Josie. He was a mechanic; he could fix anything.

Christopher is survived by his son, Christopher Gasper (Samantha); four sisters, Joyce Turner, Donna Nichols (Ed), Lisa East, and Mary Frances Lankford; three brothers, Allen Wingfield, Raymond Wingfield (Susan), and Victor Wingfield; one brother-in-law, Butch Farley; and eight grandchildren, Aiden, Autum, Declan, Christpoher, Eliana, Henley, Gideon, and Oliver;

The family will receive friends on Monday, January 15, 2024, at Bassett Funeral Service chapel from 1:00pm to 2:00pm. A graveside service will be held on Monday, January 15, 2024, at 3:00 p.m. at the Wingfield Family Cemetery in Penhook, Virginia, with Pastor Kenneth R. Horsley II.
