Obituaries

Daniel Eugene Walker, 86, of Cascade, Virginia, passed away Wednesday, December 20, 2023. He was born May 21, 1937, in Museville, Virginia, to the late Daniel Owen Walker and Veora Garnette Doss Walker.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by spouse, Alicia Dianne Gunter Walker; sister, Celia McCulty; and brother, Rick Walker.

He is survived by two children, Danny Walker (Stephanie), Laurie Powell, sister, Cindy Walker, brother-in-law, Allen McCulty, four grandsons, special niece, Katrina Quinn, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Eugene retired from DuPont in Martinsville, VA. After retirement he worked for golf courses in the Martinsville area for many years. He played baseball for the Baltimore Orioles, and his favorite sport was golf which he played many games with his dear friend Barry Stout. He was loved by many, and he will be missed more than he could have ever imagined. He loved God, Family, and his Country.
