Obituaries

Danny Clay King, 67, of Martinsville, Virginia, passed away Sunday, December 3, 2023, at Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital. He was born April 24, 1956, in Martinsville, to the late Dana Olden King and Amanda Hairston King.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Shirley Jones; granddaughter, Keyara Hairston; and sister, Kathy King Penn.

He was a member of Mountain View Missionary Baptist Church, loved hot rods, and was an aficionado of the Pittsburg Steelers. Danny was a true family man.

Danny is survived by his wife of forty-four years, Donna Dodson King; daughters, Tamisha Dodson, and Danielle Graham; son, Terrance Dodson; sister, Mary Moore; three grandchildren, Kaleb Dodson, Jordan Dodson, and Genesis Adams; and one great-grandchild, Abriel Hairston.

Danny’s wish was for friends and family to gather at his home at 463 Meadowood Trail and share memories. This event will take place Tuesday, December 5, 2023, through Sunday, December 10, 2023.

Danny, we all love and miss you dearly.
