Obituaries

Delois Ann Mitchell, 79, of Martinsville, Virginia, passed away Friday, July 7, 2023, at Forsythe Hospital in Winston-Salem, NC. She was born March 4, 1944, to the late John Lee Mitchell and Ida Bowe Mitchell.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by sisters, Betty Mitchell, Mae Borden, Doris Mitchell Hairston, and Viola Smith; and brothers, Edward Mitchell, Cozy Mitchell, and Herman Mitchell.

She loved dressing up, shopping, cooking, and going to flea markets, and was noted for being a very clean person. She loved her family and friends, and her church family.

Delois is survived by her daughters, Synthy Moore, Alanna Jamison (Cory), Denise Fuller (Towand), and Lavon Mitchell; sons, Kevin Moore, Ronald Moore, John Mitchell (Tammy), and Antonio Mitchell; brother, James Mitchell; several grandchildren, and great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, family members, and friends.

The funeral service will be Saturday, July 15, 2023, at 12:00 PM at Shiloh Way of The Cross Church, 938 Brookdale Street, Martinsville, with visitation 30 minutes prior to the service. Bishop Early Dillard will be officiating.
