Donald Dean Spencer, 61, of Fieldale, passed away Friday, July 7, 2023, at his home. He was born in Martinsville on April 29, 1962, the son of the late Paul Fredrick Spencer and the late Ruby Lawless Spencer. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Patricia Sutherland and a brother, George Author Spencer.

Donald is survived by his life partner, Sarah Mitchem; children, Eric Dean Spencer and wife Justina and Brandy Michelle Spencer; grandchildren, Molly Jane Spencer, Orion Beck, Jasmine Fowler and Landen Hall; brother, Charles Edward Spencer and wife Rebecca; sisters Viola Walsh, Linda Carter and Shirley Hancock; bonus children, Billy Mitchem and wife Kendall, Rebecca Leviner and husband Josh, Michele Farmer and husband Ryan and Kayla Montgomery and husband Chris; 10 bonus grandchildren; several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

The family will receive friends on Thursday, July 13, 2023, from 5:00 PM to 6:00 PM in the Bassett Funeral Service Chapel where a funeral service will follow at 6:00 PM Pastor Dennis Cline officiating.
