Obituaries

Eric Demetriz Hairston, 27, of Martinsville, Virginia, passed away Saturday, December 10, 2022. He was born April 27, 1995 in Roanoke, Virginia, to Sherry and Marlon Hairston. He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Elder George W. Hairston; great grandmother, mother, Ruth B. Neman; and great-grandparents, Elmer and Lillie Napper.

Eric graduated from Bassett High School. He enjoyed playing video games, watching movies and spending time with family. He worked at Kentucky Fried Chicken before becoming disabled.

In addition to his parents, he is survived by brothers, Marcus Hairston and Camron Hairston; sister, Myasia Hairston; grandparents, Robert and Annie Rogers and Iris Hairston; and a host of uncles, aunts, and cousins.

A graveside service will be held on Thursday, December 15, 2022, at 11:00 A. M. at Carver Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be on Wednesday, December 14, 2022, from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Wright Funeral Service Chapel.
