Obituaries

Evelyn Chatham Hall, 83, of Bassett, passed away on Friday, November 25, 2022 at Sovah Health of Martinsville. She was born on January 3, 1939 in Grayson County, VA to the late Earl Chatham and the late Mae Brooks Chatham. Evelyn was also preceded in death by her brothers, J. B. Chatham and Harold Chatham; sister, Janice Farmer; brothers-in-law, Jim Slagle and Bud Farmer. She was a member of Hillcrest Baptist Church and the Adult Senior Sunday School Class.

Evelyn is survived by her husband, Charles R. Hall; son, Richard K. Hall (Karen); granddaughter, Alison Hall Branson (William); sisters, Lucille Farmer (Jimmy) and Margaret Slagle; sister-in-law, Frances Chatham and several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends and family from 12:00 to 2:00 pm on Wednesday, November 30, 2022 at Bassett Funeral Service Chapel where a funeral will be conducted at 2:00 pm with Pastor Doug Ramsey and Steve Doby officiating. Burial will follow the funeral service at Blackberry Baptist Church Cemetery.
