Fred Lawson Adkins, 82, of Martinsville, Virginia, passed away, Saturday, December 3, 2022. He was born July 11, 1940, in Martinsville, Virginia to the late Monice Lawson Adkins and Ora Adkins.

Fred was a self-employed Cabinet Maker who also finished and refinished furniture all of his life. In his free time, he enjoyed hunting, fishing, watching sports, loved tractors, and going to flea markets.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Frances A. Hubbard; brother, Garfield Adkins.

He is survived by his loving wife, Shelby Jean Flanagan Adkins; sons, Stephen B. Adkins (Peggy), Mark A. Adkins, Paul A. Adkins, Brian L. Adkins (Karen); grandchildren, Stephanie Cannaday (Brad), and Blaine Adkins (Brittany); great grandchildren, Nathan, Austin, Bella, and Cheyenne.

The Memorial Service will be Tuesday, December 6, 2022, at 6 PM at Wright Funeral Service Chapel. Burial will be private.
