Obituaries

Harold David Richardson, 87, of Patrick Springs, Virginia, passed away Tuesday, December 19, 2023, at Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital. He was born July 27, 1936, in Henry County to the late Claude Isaiah Richardson and Erma Amelda Manning Richardson.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Frances Mae Dillon Richardson; and sons, Timothy Richardson and James Dean Richardson.

Harold proudly served his country in the United States Air Force and had been employed by E. I. DuPont for 28 years. He was of the Baptist faith and attended Pleasant View Baptist Church. He enjoyed country music and working in his yard. He was a superb woodworking craftsman. He built furniture, cabinets, and toys for the children in the family. He was a friendly person who always greeted you with a smile and a hug. He will be greatly missed by family and friends who knew him.

Harold is survived by his brothers, Maynard “Woody” Richardson (Jane) and Billy “Reb” Richardson; granddaughter, Jessica Richardson; and great-grandson, Alex Cumpston; special nephew, Brian Richardson; and numerous nieces, nephews, and other family members.

The funeral will be Saturday, December 23, 2023, at 12:00 PM, at Pleasant View Baptist Church, 4432 Pleasant View Dr, Patrick Springs, VA 24133 with Pastor Jason Callahan officiating.

The visitation will be one hour prior to the service. Burial will be at County Line Church of God of Prophecy, 2900 County Line Road, Patrick Springs, VA 24113.

The family will receive friends and extended family after services are complete on Saturday, December 23, 2023 at County Line Church of God of Prophecy, 2900 County Line Road, Patrick Springs, VA 24113.
