Hazel Adkins Riddle Shively, 91, of Bassett, went to her heavenly home on Sunday, November 27, 2022 at Stanleytown Rehab. She was born in Franklin County, VA on January 9,1931 to the late George Robert Adkins and Betty Holley Adkins. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, David Lynwood (Dock) Shively on August 10, 2020; four brothers, Arthur, Grady, Noah and John Adkins and three sisters, Ethel Wilson, Florence Boiling and Mildred Eanes; step-mother, Lelia Cockram Adkins.

Hazel worked at Bassett Furniture Industries and Bassett Walker for many years and enjoyed working until her health would not allow her to work any longer. She enjoyed going to church and dining out at her favorite restaurants. She was a charter member of The Gathering Place was known as Critz Church of God.

Hazel is survived by her daughter, Linda Riddle Greer (Danny) of Fieldale; Son, Roger Riddle (Debbie) and a step-granddaughter, Kimberly Allred of Lexington, N.C.

The family will have a funeral service at 1:00 pm on Friday, December 2, 2022 at Bassett Funeral Service Chapel with Louann Moore officiating. Burial will be private at Henry Memorial Park.
