Obituaries

Herman Wayne Mayes, age 82 of Fieldale, VA, passed away on Monday, December 19, 2022 at Stanleytown Health and Rehab after a decline in health. Mr. Mayes was born on October 29, 1940 in Henry County, VA to the late Herman Lee Mayes and the late Esther Dawson Mayes. He had served in the Virginia National Guard for six years. He was employed by Dupont for many years.

Mr. Mayes is survived by his wife, Elizabeth Ann Taylor Mayes, three sisters, Emma Ratliff, Jean Ramsey and Janet Reynolds.

A Graveside Service will be held on Tuesday, December 27, 2022 at 11:00 am at Roselawn Burial Park with Rev. Dr. J.D. Harmon officiating.
