Joanne Julia Meyers, 74, of Martinsville, Virginia, passed away Thursday, January 11, 2024, at her residence. She was born January 8, 1950, in Carmel, New York, to the late “Buckskin” and Anna May Meyers.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by several brothers and sisters; and one grandchild, Christopher Torres.

Joanne worked in the nursing field for many years. In her free time, she enjoyed crocheting and working crossword puzzles. She was known as a fun loving, joyful, and kind-hearted person who would do anything for anyone. She was a free spirit.

She is survived by her daughters, Kina Cato (Fred), Lisa Joyce (Gary); sons, Arsenio “Sammy” Torres (Kristy), Christopher Torres Munoz (Sabra), Alberto Torres, Aunt Rosie; granddaughter, Anastasia Torres; grandson, Davonte Torres, Xavier Torres, Brandon Torres, Ian Torres, Devin Torres, Sammy Torres, Charles Torres, Jeremy Mathis, Javien Mathis, Jayden Mathis; great granddaughter, Kealoha (Koko) Shay Marie Fortune; special friend, Sheila Joyce.

All service will be private.
