Obituaries

Nina “Frances” Eggleston Jamison, 91, of Martinsville, Virginia, passed away Wednesday, December 21, 2022, at Woltz Hospice Home in Dobson, North Carolina. She was born December 13, 1931 in Henry County, Virginia, to the late Coleman Eggleston and Alice Jamison Eggleston. She was a lifetime member of Pleasant Grove United Methodist Church. She was also a member of the Pleasant Grove United Methodist Women. She belonged to the Pleasant Quilters for many years. Frances loved to read and crochet and was known for her chocolate pies, cornbread, and buttermilk coconut pies. She enjoyed playing dominos, rook and old maid. She was a homemaker for over forty years.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Richard Edgar Jamison; son, Roger Jamison; brother, John Andrew Eggleston; sister-in-law, Rachel Eggleston; and son-in-law, Randy Cox.

She is survived by her daughter, Brenda Cox; son, Donald Jay Jamison (Pat); daughter-in-law, Susan Jamison; grandchildren, Christopher Daniel Jamison (Sharon), Jodi Hasty, Jessica Cox (Dwayne Hancock), Jodi Setliff and Cristy Setliff Gillispie; and great-grandchildren, Shawn Jamison, Lindsey Jamison, Lilliana Hasty, Noah Shuff.

Visitation will be on Wednesday, December 28, 2022, from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Pleasant Grove United Methodist Church. There will be a Celebration of Life Service on Thursday, December 29, 2022 at 1:00 PM at Pleasant Grove United Methodist Church in Martinsville, Virginia.
