Obituaries

Norman “Lewis” Morris, 87, of Spencer, Virginia, passed away Friday, December 9, 2022, at his residence. He was born January 29, 1935 in Horsepasture to the late Curtis and Thelma Morris. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Ginny Morris.

He was a founding charter member of the Horsepasture Volunteer Fire Department since 1972; was a lifetime member of the PTA; honorary member of Horsepasture Rescue Squad; and a member of the Horsepasture Christian Church. He was a 1952 graduate of Spencer Penn High School and a 1957 graduate of Virginia Tech.

Mr. Morris is survived by his daughter, Ginger Painter (Jeff), son, Neal Morris (Rhonda); grandchildren, Shannon Collins, Zach Morris (Autumn), and Logan Valderrama (Alberto); and six great-grandchildren.

The Floating Visitation will be Sunday, December 11, 2022, from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM, at Wright Funeral Service Chapel. The family will not be present for the visitation. A Graveside Service will be Monday, December 12, 2022, at 11:00 AM at Horsepasture Christian Church Cemetery.
