Obituaries

Orley B. Parks, 92, of Martinsville, Virginia, passed away peacefully at Stanleytown Health & Rehab on Wednesday, March 12, 2025. He was born on September 11, 1932, in Grayson County, Virginia, to the late Dewey Parks and Mary Inez Barker Parks. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Shirley H. Parks; his son, Bill Parks; and sisters, Zella Vernon, Bessie Parks, and Lessie Parks.

Orley dedicated his career to the automotive industry; he served in the United States Army. He enjoyed working on antique cars and attending car shows. He also enjoyed spending time with family and friends.

He is survived by his son, Brad Parks (Linda); his daughter, Brenda Daughtry (Chris); three grandchildren, Susie Wyatt (Travis), Zack Parks and Kris Keene; a sister, Betty Austin; a daughter in law, Maritza Parks and a host of extended family and friends who will cherish his memory.

A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, March 19, 2025, at 12 Noon at Roselawn Burial Park, with Pastor Carl Keith officiating.
