Obituaries

Peggy June Henderson Owen, 86, of Martinsville, VA passed away on Tuesday, December 31, 2024, at Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital. She was born on September 2, 1938, in Danville, VA to the late Frank Henderson and Lillian Dalton Henderson. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her sister, Jeanette Clark, and her brother, Julian Henderson.

She was a member of the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses.

Ms. Owen is survived by her daughter, Karen Fanin (Greg); sons, Jeff Owen (Nancy) and Mark “Randy” Roberts (Alysson, Bekah); brother, Frank Gerald Henderson (Suzanne); and grandchildren, Jason Johnson, Jacob Fanin, Chris (Sammie), Kathleen, Ryan; great grandchildren Liam and Kyler.

A graveside service will be held privately. A memorial service will be held at Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses, 107 Governor’s Lane, Martinsville VA. on Sunday, January 12, 2025 at 3:30 PM.

The family is very grateful to all of the volunteer friends and nurses who helped care for her in her final two months.
