Obituaries

Rev. Tracy Freeman, 91, of Collinsville, passed away on Wednesday, November 23, 2022 at his home. He was born on September 8, 1931 in Montgomery County, NC to the late Tracy R. Freeman and the late Lula Comer Freeman. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his first wife, Peggy King Freeman; brothers, Paul and Alva Freeman; sisters, Grace Needham and Faye Patille.

Tracy served his country in the United States Air Force. He was the founder and pastor for 62 years of Collinsville Baptist Church.

Tracy is survived by his wife, Shirley Freeman; daughter, Kymberly “Kym” Thomas (Neil); grandchildren, Cameron Cooper (Kiah), Cody Merriman, Bianca Small and Max Small; great grandchild, Little Kiah Cooper II; step children, Steve Burton (Jennifer), Dennis Burton (Amanda) and Sandra Wells (William); eleven step grandchildren; six step great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends and family from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm on Tuesday, November 29, 2022 at Collinsville Baptist Church where a funeral will be conducted at 1:00 pm with George Wells officiating. Burial will follow the funeral service at Roselawn Burial Park.
