Obituaries

Richard Wesley Adams, 86, of Union Hall, VA passed away Friday, November 24, 2023 at Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital. He was born March 5, 1937 in Crumpler, WV to the late Alfred Richard Adams and Edna Ruth Thomas Adams. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Michael Ray Adams; brother, Nolen R. Adams; and grandson, Shane Wesley Hayden Myers.

He is survived by his wife, Carolyn Ritchie Adams; son, Richard S. Adams (Dianna); daughters, Dawn Cobb (Steve) and Kim Myers (Jeff); seven grandchildren, Nick Bradley, Kelly Franchy (William), Brooke Bradley, Kim Adams, Mallory Bradley, Doug Adams, and Morgan Smith (Tyler) and two great-grandchildren, Jackson and Leo Franchy.

Richard was a member of Holy Trinity Lutheran Church and worked at Dupont.

The funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, November 28, 2023 with Pastor Ron Mateer officiating. Visitation will be prior to the service from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. Burial will be private.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, 1527 E. Church Street Ext., Martinsville, VA 24112.
