Obituaries

Rita Lynn Dillon 74, of Rocky Mount passed away on Thursday, November 17, 2022, at Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital in Roanoke with her family by her side. She was born in Franklin, Co. on July 25, 1948, the daughter of the late Taylor Dillon Sink and the late Ola Brooks Sink. Rita was also preceded in death by her son which she loved dearly Dixon Blake Young, sister Irene Haley, brother Bill Sink and nephew Ricky Haley.

Rita was a member of Woodlawn Baptist Church, and she enjoyed donating to different organizations such as St. Jude’s Hospital to help the children and several other ones she loved to help.

She is survived by her sisters and brothers – in – law; Gladys Fuller (Fred), Diane Robertson (Kenny), Jeanie Matherly (Marshall) sister – in – law; Melody Sink and a very special niece Dee Haley Archual and several other nieces and nephews. There will be a memorial service to celebrate Rita life in the spring.
