Obituaries

Ronald Dean “Dinky” Wagner, 71, of Martinsville, VA passed away Sunday, January 7, 2024 in Roanoke, VA. He was born December 21, 1952 in Martinsville, VA to the late George Willie Wagner and Bessie Bradley Wagner. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter, Amanda Lee Wagner; sister, Dorothy W. Howell; and brothers, William Donald Wagner and Thomas Lewis Wagner.

He is survived by his wife, Teresa Carter Wagner; daughter, Deanna Tipton (Joey); grandchildren, Allison and Asher Tipton; sister, Betty W. Campbell (Frankie); and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Dinky worked for Norfolk Southern for 35 years and recently opened Figsboro Auto Exchange. He loved working on cars and was a big Ford fan. When he wasn’t working on cars he enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his grandkids.

Visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, January 17, 2024 at Norris Funeral Services, Martinsville Chapel. The funeral will be at 2 p.m. on Thursday, January 18, 2024 at Norris Funeral Services with Pastor Glenn Stinnett officiating. Burial will follow the service at Roselawn Burial Park.
