Obituaries

Ronda Lee Cook, 61, of Ridgeway, Virginia, passed away Monday, November 27, 2023, at Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital. She was born July 2, 1962 in Beckley, West Virginia, to Elizabeth Ellen Maxwell and the late Johnny F. Howell. In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by her sister, Lora Frazier.

She had been employed at Fieldcrest Mills, and was a member of the Sanville Ruritan Club. She enjoyed working in the yard, helping others, and going to the mountains.

Ronda will be remembered for her kindness, resilience, and feisty personality. Her laugh and smile were infectious. She was loved by all and will be missed greatly.

She is survived by her mother; her husband, Victor “Radar” Cook; daughters, P. J. Watson (Tyrone), Hiawatha Rosemond (Patrick), and Shannon Moore; sister, Jolene Harris; brothers, Johnny Howell and Timothy Howell; grandchildren, Jayden Watson, DeSean Watson, Lyric Thompson, Drake Thompson, Silas Thompson and Nick Moore; and great-grandchildren, Nona and Joni.

The funeral will be Wednesday, December 6, 2023, at 1:00 PM at Wright Funeral Service Chapel with David Kipfinger and Eddie Hawks officiating. Burial will follow at Fair Haven Memorial Park. Visitation will be Tuesday, December 5, 2023 from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at Wright Funeral Service Chapel.
