Russell Lee Hairston, 65, of Martinsville, passed away Tuesday, November 22, 2022. He was born in Martinsville, April 3, 1957, to the late William Henry Hairston, Sr. and Dora Lee Hairston.

Russell proudly served his country in the United States Army. He was baptized at a young age, loved to cook, watch westerns, and was a big jokester.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by sisters, Ella Mae Hodge, Elizabeth Moyer, Ruby Hairston, Ruby Chisolm, and Betty Hunt; and brothers, William Henry Hairston, Vincent Hairston, Timothy Hairston, and James Hairston.

He is survived by his loving wife, Marion Gravely Hairston; sons, Quincy Hairston and Bryan Hairston (Britany); sisters, Janet Dillard and Alice Hughes (John); brothers, Sammy Hairston (Arnette), Fred Hairston (Sheda), and Anthony Hairston (Kathy).

A graveside service will be held on Thursday, December 8, 2022 at Carver Memorial Gardens at 11:00 A. M. A floating visitation will be Wednesday, December 7, 2022, from 1:00 to 5:00 PM at Wright Funeral Service Chapel.
