Sandra Gale Joyce Cooper, 70, of Bassett, Virginia, passed away Tuesday, December 31, 2024, at SOVAH Health- Martinsville. She was born April 26, 1954, in Martinsville, Virginia, to the late Harvey Webster Joyce, Sr. and Mary Ada Hensley Joyce. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Patricia Kaye Dickerson.

Sandra was a talented seamstress with a deep passion for sewing. She cherished days spent at the beach and found her greatest joy in being surrounded by her beloved family.

She is survived by her husband of 53 years, James E. Cooper, Sr; four children, Tammi Nichole Cooper Adams (Robert), James Eldridge Cooper, Jr (Sarina), William Bradley Cooper, Brenton Harvey Cooper; eight grandchildren; three great grandchildren; one brother, Harvey Webster Joyce, Jr. (Sharon), and sister, Shirley Jean Hayzlett.

The funeral will be held Wednesday January 8, 2025, at 2:00 PM at Bassett Funeral Service Chapel, with Pastor Carl Keith officiating. The visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at 1:00 PM. The burial will follow at Henry Memorial Park.
