Obituaries

Stacey Hownita Giles, 53, of Martinsville, Virginia, transisitioned from her earthly home Wednesday, April 30, 2025. She was born June 7, 1971, in Martinsville, Virginia to Betty Jean Moyer and the late Howard Columbus Giles.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her brother; Charles Belcher.

Stacey was a very compassionate woman who spent over fifteen years working in health care, always putting the needs of others before her own. She faithfully served as an Intern Life Minister, sharing her heart and supporting those around her. Stacey was a proud graduate of Laurel Park High School, Class of 1989. She had a deep love for animals and enjoyed attending her flower garden. Above all, Stacey’s greatest joy was her children and family, they were the center of her world.

In addition to her mother, she is survived by her daughters, LaVonna Giles and Lashea Scales; sons, Eric Giles (Desira) and Brandon Jeqwuin Giles; sister, Diannia Belcher; brother, Christopher Belcher; grandchildren, Zion Hairston, Jeqwuin Giles, Ayana Giles, Jayden Redd, Trinity Giles, and Mazi Giles.

A Visitation will be held Monday, May 5, 2025, from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM, at Wright Funeral Service Chapel. Burial will follow at Brimmer Family Cemetery, Cabell Street, Martinsville, Virginia 24112.
