Obituaries

Thomas Patrick Moran, 75, of Martinsville, Virginia, passed away Thursday, January 11, 2024. He was born April 1, 1948, in Kings County, New York, to the late Warren Moran, and May Faith Moran.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by wife Ann Healy Bailey-Moran, and brother, Alvin Moran.

PFC Thomas Moran proudly served in the United States Army in the following, 19th Light Infantry Brigade, Troop F, and the 17th Calvary Combat, and he was awarded the purple heart for his service. He attended St. Joesphs Catholic Church and was a dedicated supervisor at Skyline Tree Service for over 20 years. He enjoyed fishing, being outdoors, enjoying bonfires, and walking in the woods.

He is survived by daughters, Tammy Moran, Anne L. Bailey; sons, Ben Bailey (Stephanie), Thomas Moran, Jr. (Cathy), Timothy Moran (Jessica), Todd Moran, and Troy Moran; sisters, May Weiderhold; and brothers, Walter Moran, and Vinny Bepler (Myra); grandchildren, Christopher Wright, Nicholas Wright, Frank Greco, Sean Medley, Richard Bailey, Bridget Bailey, Angela Moran, Joseph Moran-Villano, Patrick Moran, Michael Moran, Matthew Moran, Madsion Moran, Teresa Moran, Todd Moran II, Mark Moran, Brian Moran, and Kevin Moran; great grandchildren, Adalyn Wright, Davina Wright, Scarlett Wright, Aubriella Wright, Grayson Greco, Lilee Farmer, Liam Bailey, Callie Moran, Elizabeth Moran, Hayvin Moran, Ashlynn Hayzlett, Lily Pickard, and Chevy Hailey.
