Obituaries

Timothy Howard Dunford, 59, of Bassett, passed away Sunday, November 19, 2023, at his residence. He was born February 28, 1964 in Virginia, to the late Ralph E. Dunford and Shirley Chandler Dunford. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Kathy Diana Durham; brothers, Gregory Ralph Dunford and William Edward Dunford; and granddaughter, Lilly Mae Justus.

He was a great musician, being in many bands, playing guitar and singing. He enjoyed woodworking, hunting, fishing, and making canes. He had been employed in construction his entire life as a carpenter.

Timothy is survived by his daughters, Melissa Beck (Bo) and Elizabeth Gockley; son, Gregory Dunford (Stefanie); sister, Teresa Lynn Reynolds; brother, Christopher Todd Dunford; and grandchildren, Dravin Maples, J. Vincent Beck, Jr., Emma Beck, Aldrey Kallam, Anya Gockley, Addison Kaylor, Harley Barbour, Paisley Barbour, Abilene Barbour, and Talon Barbour.

A memorial service will be held Monday, November 27, 2023, at 6:00 p.m. at Norris Funeral Services with Pastor Dan Schelling officiating. The visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. prior to the service.

Family will receive friends at the home of Timothy Dunford at 85 Ann's Park Drive, Bassett VA 24055.
