Timothy “Tim” Scott, 33, of Bassett, VA, passed away on Monday, July 10, 2023, peacefully at Joan & Howard Woltz Hospice Home. He was born on October 12, 1989, in Forsyth County, N.C., to James Cecil Scott and Faye Bowman Scott. He was preceded in death by maternal grandparents, Elizabeth Bowman Fallin and Herbert Hoover Bowman.

He was an avid fisherman and outdoorsman and was active in several fisherman clubs. He will be remembered mostly for his great sense of humor and a giving heart for others.

In addition to his parents, Timothy is survived by his daughter, Kelsie Marie Scott of Axton, Va.; paternal grandparents, Cecil Scott, and Marcell Handy and husband Glenn; maternal aunts and uncles: Judy and Jerry Robertson, Jerry and Rose Bowman of Ridgeway, Va.; and paternal aunts and uncles Roger and Rhonda Scott of Stokesdale, N.C., Gary Scott of Bassett, Va., and Wayne and Anita Scott of Stuart, Va.; his cousins: Tyler Robertson, Gunnar Robertson, Justin Scott, Ashlei Dawn, Paige Scott, Seth Scott, Taylor Scott, and Ryan Scott, and a host of other family and friends.

He was loved by many and will be deeply missed.

The family will receive friends on Monday, July 17, 2023, from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Bassett Funeral Service chapel. A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, July 18, 2023, at 2:00 PM at Bassett Funeral Service Chapel. The burial will be held at Ross Harbour United Methodist Church cemetery in Stuart immediately following the service.
