Wanda Thompson Vernon, age 76 of Bassett, VA passed on January 4, 2024.

Wanda was born on March 3, 1947 in Surry County, N.C. to the late Walter Thompson and the late Alice Holder Thompson. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one daughter, Tammy Vernon Light, one son, Michael Vernon, two sisters, Gayla T Hicks, Dorothy T. Marion, two brothers, Paige Thompson and William Thompson. She was retired from Stanley Furniture Company.

Wanda is survived by one sister, Dana Naja, three grandchildren, Kristy Light Page, Kacey Light Mabe, Carrie Alley, six great grandchildren, Mackenzie Page, Samantha Page, Nazia Bridges, Jaden Mabe, Michael Gulledge and August Mabe.

A visitation will be held on Friday, January 12, 2024 at Collins Funeral Home, 30 Riverside Hwy, Bassett, VA from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM with a funeral service to follow at 12:00 PM with Rev. Dr. J.D. Harmon officiating. Interment will follow in Henry Memorial Park.
