Obituaries

Wilma Lee Sands, 66, of Martinsville, Virginia, passed away Wednesday, December 13, 2023. She was born May 12, 1957, in Saltville, Virginia, to the late Robert Neal and Mary Hoover Neal.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Faye Patton.

Wilma was a member of One Accord Baptist Church. She loved being a grandma and was a die-hard wrestling fan. She enjoyed baking sweets, her claim to fame was her chocolate éclair.

She is survived by her daughters, Melissa Norton and Ashley Norton; son, Christopher “Neal” Norton; sister, Mary Margaret Neal; nephews, Blake Neal and Christopher Draper; and grandchildren, Connor Norton and Ada Norton.

The Memorial Service will be Sunday, December 17, 2023 at 5:30 PM at One Accord Baptist Church, 3630 Kings Mountain Road, Martinsville. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service.
