Danville Councilman Lee Vogler has managed to stand with help and received a tracheostomy, allowing him to be off of a ventilator for part of the day. He’s scheduled to have more surgery next week and is still listed in critical condition, according to his wife, who shared the news on a GoFundMe account that has raised over $143,000 toward his medical expenses.
Vogler was doused in gasoline and set afire by a man who claimed he tried to kill Vogler for reasons unrelated to politics.
