Obituaries

Bryan Wallace Spencer, 30, of Fieldale, Virginia, passed away Monday, December 16, 2024. He was born February 27, 1994, in Martinsville, Virginia, to Bryan D. Spencer and Christina Hall Spencer. He was preceded in death by grandfather, Harold W. Spencer; grandparents, Clarence Lee Hall and Anna Rose Hall; and two uncles, H.W. Spencer and Clayton Covington.

Bryan was of the Christian faith and was a proud 2012 graduate of Bassett High School. Bryan loved the outdoors, especially hunting and fishing, and an avid skateboarder. He often found peace on the water, enjoying the quiet serenity that came with fishing. Bryan cherished spending time with family and friends and was deeply loved by all who knew him. It was no secret that his daughters were the greatest joy and light of his life.

In addition to his parents, he is survived by his two daughters, Nevaeh Spencer and Niya Spencer; two brothers, Douglas Blake Spencer (Brooke) and Joseph David Arnold; grandmother, Sadie P. Spencer; three aunts, Jacqueline Smallwood (Orien), Rita Cook, and Brenda Adams; and two uncles, Scotty Hatten and Michael Hall.

The visitation will be held Monday, December 23, 2024, at 12:00 PM at Bassett Funeral Service Chapel. The funeral will be held at 1:00 PM following the visitation with Pastor Gary Martin officiating. The burial will follow at Old Center Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery.
