Obituaries

Deborah Anne McKinney, 72, passed away on Wednesday, December 18, 2024, at Blue Ridge Therapy Connection. She was born on October 19, 1952, in Reidsville, North Carolina to Sylvia Baynes McKinney and the late, Wayne Bently McKinney.

Ms. McKinney was an active member of First Baptist Church of Collinsville, where she participated in the WMU, The Phylis Creasy Prayer Group of the WMU the Bell Choir. Deborah graduated from Averett University with a master’s degree and worked as a K-3 teacher at Henry County Public School System and retired after 35 years.

In addition to her mother, she is survived by her sisters, Cindy Tilley and Libby Trevillian (Ronnie); brothers, Tommy McKinney (Becky) and Barry McKinney; nieces and nephews, Kristen, Megan, Matthew, Jordan, Daniel, and Tyler. Also surviving are many great nieces and nephews, godmother of Taylor Jo Gary and Mason Gary.

Services will be held on Saturday, December 21, 2024, at 12:00 PM, at First Baptist Church of Collinsville, with Pastor Larry Cheek officiating. A visitation will follow immediately after the service.
