Obituaries

Roy was born on March 11th, 1948, in Charlottesville, Virginia, to the late Roy Reid "Jimmy" Young Sr. and Emily Turner Young. An avid outdoorsman, Roy enjoyed hunting, fishing, traveling, hiking and biking during his downtime. Roy was proud of his military service and spent time helping fellow veterans in need as an Attorney.

He is proceeded in death by his parents, grandparents, Lena Davis Young and Roy Reid Young, a sister, Jane Young and a brother, Kent Young, his aunts; Ellen Jane "Toddy" Young Nixon, Marie David Young Burpeau and Virginia Young Grogan.

Roy is survived by his wife of 28 years, Sharon "Gail" Young, his children; Catherine Young and Roy Reid "Little Reid" Young Jr. His aunt Kerrington Young Tillery, as well as his cousins; Charles Nixon, Deborah Tilford, Michele Young Burpeau III, Kemp Burpeau, Lynne Bozeman, Anne Grogan Wheeler, Will Tillery and Kerrington Parker.

A celebration of life for Roy will be held at a later date at McKee-Stone Funeral Home, 109 Broad Street, Martinsville, Virginia.
