‘John Wick’ back in theaters for special 10th anniversary event
It’s hard to believe, but Keanu Reeves first unretired as seemingly unstoppable hitman John Wick nearly 10 years ago — Oct. 13, 2014, to be precise — and now Lionsgate is getting ready to celebrate.
Fans who had previously signed up for text alerts about the John Wick franchise were keyed in on Monday to 10th anniversary screenings of the original film, taking place Nov. 3 and Nov. 6, via Fathom Events.
For those in attendance, there will also be a special look at Ballerina, the spin-off starring Ana de Armas that features an appearance by Baba Yaga.
If you don’t have Paramount+, Paramount Network is offering folks the chance to catch up on Yellowstone before the show’s fifth season returns on Nov. 10. Its Labor Day marathon will replay the entire series so far, starting Friday at 10 p.m. ET.
Meanwhile, the producers of the Taylor Sheridan series gave USA Today a peek of the second half of season 5 — which at one point was thought to be its last, considering Kevin Costner announced in June he wouldn’t return as Dutton family patriarch John.
Reportedly, he won’t be appearing in any of the new episodes.
His character, who went from ranch owner to the governor of Montana, was facing impeachment as the first half of season 5 ended, a political move orchestrated by his scheming adoptive son Jamie, played by Wes Bentley.
With news the fan-favorite couple may be carrying on the show into a sixth season, it’s no surprise Kelly Reilly‘s Beth Dutton is shown in a snap, with her husband, Rip Wheeler (Cole Hauser), standing behind her.
Another photo shows Beth’s brother, Kayce (Luke Grimes), along with his wife, Monica Long (Kelsey Asbille), and their son, Tate Dutton (Brecken Merrill), who grew up before the eyes of Yellowstone fans.
The second half of Yellowstone‘s fifth season starts Nov. 10 at 8 p.m. ET on Paramount Network.
What was acceptable in Hollywood before and after the #MeToo movement is very different, and someone who has been there through it all, Winona Ryder, is sounding off.
To Esquire, the Beetlejuice Beetlejuice star opened up about the old days of Hollywood in the ’80s and ’90s — and yes, some of her stories include disgraced movie mogul Harvey Weinstein.
Ryder didn’t provide the names of “a couple of people” in Hollywood “who were just blatantly sexually harassing me” when she was in her late 20s.
“It wasn’t an assault. But it was incredibly inappropriate. It was wild,” she said.
“I was lucky because I was known, so it didn’t happen as much as maybe it would if I had been a struggling actor. But I remember this feeling in your mind: You’re negotiating … You’re working it out while this person is being extremely creepy.”
It “soured” her on Hollywood, she said.
Regarding Weinstein, she believes a couple of awkward meetings with him got her blacklisted from potential projects.
“The one time I was supposed to have a meeting with [him], I went to the Miramax office and I extended my hand and he shook my hand and … we had a conversation and I left,” she recalls.
“And [afterward] I got like screamed at [by an agent]. ‘What the f*** did you do?’ Apparently, I offended him because I extended my hand?”
On another occasion, she says she unintentionally rebuffed his offer to star in an adaptation of the play Little Voice by recommending instead the “amazing” actress who had played the role onstage, Jane Horrocks. “And he got very weird and he left.”
For the record, the former producer, currently in jail on sex charges, denied the exchanges toEntertainment Weekly through his attorney, offering “only good thoughts and kind wishes for happiness and success for her.”
