Obituaries

Bobby Joe Hollandsworth “Papa Joe”, 85, of Martinsville, Virginia, passed away Sunday, August 20, 2023. He was born March 17, 1938, in Henry County, Virginia, to the late Noah “Happy” Allen Hollandsworth and Orlean “Ollie” Eunice Ferguson Hollandsworth.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Ruby Rebecca “Becky” Spencer Hollandsworth; sister, Shirley Hollandsworth Parks; and brothers, Richard Linwood Hollandsworth, Maynard A Hollandsworth, and Wayne Douglas Hollandsworth.

Bobby served in the United States Air Force, and was a member of CrossPoint Church. He enjoyed fishing, golfing, and listening to music. He loved to watch racing (dirt track and NASCAR). He was also a member of the Breakfast Club at Robert’s Bestway.

He is survived by his daughters, Kim Keith (Carl) and Kristi Foster (Zach); son, David Hollandsworth (Laura); grandchildren, Kristen Joyce (Tyler), Kayla Cotner (Tyler), Mackenzie Kallam, Christopher Kallam, Breanna Foster, Sydney Foster, David Keith, Luis Keith, Cody Keith, Nevaeh Keith, Peyton Keith, Takota Keith, Cecilia Jordan, Zack Maronic (Ashley) and Alexa Maronic; and great-grandchildren, Paxton Cotner and Riley Joyce.

A Visitation and Celebration of Life will be Tuesday, August 22, 2023, from 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. at CrossPoint Church, 3951 Greensboro Road, Ridgeway, with Pastor Tyler Cotner and Pastor Carl Keith officiating. Burial will be private.
