Aunjanue Ellis-Taylor on friendships with the cast of ‘The Supremes at Earl’s All-You-Can-Eat’

Aunjanue Ellis-Taylor stars in The Supremes at Earl’s All-You-Can-Eat, the new film streaming on Hulu on Friday.

The Oscar nominee caught up with ABC Audio at the Disney Upfront event in May, where she said the film is about lifelong friendships between women.

“It’s about [this] group of women who save themselves through their relationships,” Ellis-Taylor said. “They have this life when they’re younger, and then when they grow up, they have to save each other. It’s a great story about sisterhood and women friendships, which are the best.”

Ellis-Taylor said that not only is the film about wonderful women, it stars “some really wonderful women,” too.

“The iconic Sanaa Lathan and the Emmy Award winner Uzo Aduba and a bunch of other young women who are – I think this is some of their first movies,” Ellis-Taylor said.

The sisterhood and strong connections extended outside of the characters they played. Ellis-Taylor said she holds all of her co-stars in high regard, but that she’s always “had a tremendous amount of respect for” Lathan in particular.

“Sanaa and I graduated from graduate school at the same time,” Ellis-Taylor said. “Even if we weren’t friends, I felt a connection to her because we kind of had similar journeys in that way. But I just have such respect for them because they’re just all so brilliant.”

Michael Bay reportedly working on ‘Skibidi Toilet’ film and TV franchise

If you’ve never heard of Skibidi Toilet, there’s a good chance you don’t have anyone under the age of 15 living in your house, but the viral sensation has just attracted one of the biggest blockbuster producers in Hollywood.

Variety says Michael Bay is developing a film and a TV franchise around the property, which began in 2023, when a 23-year-old from the former Soviet Republic of Georgia named Alexey Gerasimov uploaded to YouTube an 11-second video of an animated head singing from a toilet.

Those humble beginnings have turned into nearly 80 mini films, with hundreds of millions of views the world over, and games, detailing a war between the toilet head folks and cyborgs known as Cameraheads.

The trade says Bay and Paramount Pictures president Adam Goodman are collaborating on the project.

While he seems to be indestructible in his John Wick movies, it seems Keanu Reeves let his guard down while working on a comedy, and it took a knee. Literally.

Keanu was chatting with Stephen Colbert on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert about the bad luck he had making Good Fortune, Aziz Ansari‘s forthcoming comedy.

“I was filming a scene with Aziz Ansari and Seth Rogen and we were in a cold plunge,” Reeves began, adding he “was loving it.”

After they finished the scene, he was doing the “cold shuffle” and his foot found a gap in a protective carpet. “My foot got caught in the pocket in the shuffle, and then I went [down],” he continued, miming the action. “And then, in slow motion, I went falling … and my patella, kneecap, cracked like a potato chip.”

Keanu joked, “Comedy’s hard, man.”

Jimmy Fallon calls sending daughters to summer camp “traumatic”

Jimmy Fallon‘s daughters, Winnie, 11, and Frances, 10, recently marked a new milestone, attending their first sleep away summer camp, and the Tonight Show host says it was “traumatic” for him and his wife.

“I don’t know why they asked us to go,” Jimmy tells E! News. “I go, ‘Why would you want to go somewhere else? You have such a great life here with dad and mom.’ They’re like, ‘We’re ready to go.’ And they had the best time.”

However, Fallon, 49, says he and his wife, Nancy Juvonen, didn’t handle the situation quite so well.

“It was so sad for me and my wife,” he shared. “You couldn’t talk to them. There was a call time between 10:30 and 10:45. It was like they were in prison.”

“It’s like, ‘I’m coming to get you out honey. You didn’t do anything wrong. I’m coming to get you,’” joked Fallon. “It was a very traumatic summer for us. They’re growing up and it’s all kind of happening.”
