Joan Vassos‘ journey as the Golden Bachelorette concluded in a happily ever after on Wednesday night during the show’s finale.

The 61-year-old school administrator from Maryland, whose journey as the Golden Bachelorette began in September, chose Chock, in the end, who proposed to her in Bora Bora.

Throughout the entire season, the 60-year-old insurance executive from Wichita, Kansas, appeared to be Vassos’ strongest connection. He received the first rose on one date, which they spent at Disneyland, and he showed his commitment to Vassos mid-season when he returned to the mansion after he went home for his mother’s funeral.

During his proposal, he promised her that he will honor John, her late husband, by loving her every day.

“Joan, I love you and I want you to be in my life,” he said.

She replied and told him that their first date at Disneyland helped her see a future with him. His brief departure from the show also made her realize that she “couldn’t do this journey” without him.

“I love you and I want to spend the rest of my life with you,” she told him before he got down on one knee. Vassos also gave Chock the final rose.

Before proposing to Vassos, Chock met her kids and told them how much he cares for Vassos. He also assured them that his intention isn’t to replace their dad, but to love her and have adventures with her. He also had a final date with her where he gave her a set of keys, which he said was a symbol of his commitment to her.

While Vassos found her happily ever after with Chock, it also meant she had to say goodbye to Guy. After Chock and Joan’s final date together, Vassos realized where her heart belonged and broke up with Guy the same day that he was supposed to meet her family. She told Guy that she wanted to “spare him” the trouble of meeting them and going through with their final date when she ultimately knew what her heart was telling her all along.

Director James Mangold’s long-in-the-works Bob Dylan flick A Complete Unknown, starring Timothée Chalamet, is finally hitting theaters on Dec. 25, and the director reveals in a new interview how the pandemic may have helped in the film’s development.

Mangold tells MOJO that while the pandemic delayed the film, it also allowed him a chance to get more time with Dylan himself. 

“Bob had a tour that he’d just cancelled, and he asked to read the script, and that was the start of our connection,” Mangold shares. “He liked what I was doing and saw that I didn’t have some kind of agenda.”

“Then we sat down and had a series of one-on-one meetings, four or five times for at least a half day, just the two of us drinking coffee,” he adds. “And it became a huge opportunity for me to fill in the cracks in the story that the many books about him don’t cover.”

Chalamet had been cast to play Dylan since 2020, and Mangold says, “I thought he was perfect for it from the start and remained so.”

“Timmy’s incredibly sharp, witty, ambitious, kind of wonderfully odd and cool,” he says. “I felt he kind of could really embody a lot of things that Bob was, especially in that early time in his life.”

The film, which Mangold describes as “a fable,” covers a five-year period of Dylan’s early career — and that was enough for the director.

“I don’t feel pressure to define Bob for the ages and all his work over decades,” Mangold says. “I’m just talking about the moment that this guy blossomed, he became empowered, and then moved on. And where he moved to is either another movie or another writer’s business.”

Nicole Kidman is down to collaborate with Martin Scorsese, as long as he’s down to tell a story about women.

The actress told Vanity Fair in an interview released Wednesday that she would like to work with the iconic director, under one condition.

“I’ve always said I want to work with Scorsese, if he does a film with women,” Kidman said.

While Kidman didn’t elaborate any further, Scorsese has been criticized for the depictions of and lack of characters who are women in his films.

The actress also spoke about other directors she’s interested in working with.

“I’d love to work with Kathryn Bigelow. I’d love to work with Spike Jonze. I’d love to work with PTA [Paul Thomas Anderson]. I’ve always wanted to work with Michael Haneke. And there’s a whole slew of new up-and-coming directors — there’s so many, and I’m always open to the discovery of new people.”

Kidman also spoke about being a part of two recent projects — The Perfect Couple and Babygirl — which were directed by women.

“I’m trying to support all of these women at all different ages, at all different stages in their careers, put my weight behind them and go, ‘I’m here and I’m at your disposal and I’m ready,'” Kidman said.

Jon M. Chu, the director of the hit Crazy Rich Asians, is used to pressure, but in a new interview with The Hollywood Reporter, he says one sequence in Wicked had him stressed.

He calls the movie’s showstopping “Defying Gravity” scene “one of the most complicated things I’ve ever shot in my entire life,” adding, “I felt more pressure with ‘Defying Gravity’ than the whole movie itself.”

Chu explained star Cynthia Erivo had to train for the scene’s exacting aerial sequence not once but twice. 

After 160 days of shooting Wicked and its sequel, the production halted because of the Hollywood strikes 10 days shy of finishing the pivotal scene.

“Cynthia had to train and gain — for a year — all the skill set, stunt-wise, to be able to fly and sing at the same time. Then, right when we’re about to shoot it, we stopped for six months. When we came back in January of this year, she had to retrain.”

He says in retrospect he was “grateful” for the unexpected break, and the cast and crew just “f****** unleashed” when filming resumed.

He calls Erivo’s pivotal scene “a revelation when you see her as Elphaba.”

Regarding his other leading lady, Ariana Grande, Chu reveals “she didn’t win the role the first time around …  [She] had all her Ariana Grande makeup on. Next time she came in, all makeup gone, and she was in it.”

He adds, “And when she showed up on day one, she was Galinda. Her voice was different. The way she walked was different. I have never seen anyone change like that. She earned this thing like no other.”

Wicked: Part One hits theaters on Nov. 22. Wicked: Part Two is slated to open on Nov. 21, 2025.

Set at the actual place where countless epic battles took place, the Colosseum in Rome, and naturally tied into the release of Gladiator II, the ad copy teases that “for the first time in nearly 2,000 years, the Colosseum returns to its original purpose as a venue for performances, inviting daring warriors to step foot inside the historic arena to forge their own paths and shape their destinies.”

You’ll have to make your own way to Rome — but undoubtedly that will be more enjoyable than how real gladiators found themselves there back in the day.

Full House alum Dave Coulier announced on the newest episode of his podcast Full House Rewind that he has been diagnosed with non-Hodgkin lymphoma.

“I’ve often worn many hats in my life and career, and today I’m wearing this hat for another reason,” he said at the top of the Nov. 13 episode. He called the diagnosis a “big surprise.”

Non-Hodgkin lymphoma is a type of cancer that forms in the lymph system, part of the immune system that helps protect the body from infection and disease, according to the National Cancer Institute.

Coulier said “this has all happened to me very quickly,” and revealed he’s already going through chemotherapy and made the decision to shave his head as a “preemptive strike” rather than wait for his hair to fall out.

“This is my own personal battle. So why talk about this on Full House Rewind?” he said. “Well, because cancer has affected nearly all of us.”

Coulier went on to share how the women in his life he has lost to cancer — his sister, his niece and his mother — have inspired him to fight the disease.

“I saw what they went through, and if I can be even half as strong as they were during their battles, I’m going to put up a pretty good fight,” he said.

Coulier also encouraged his fans to get screened.

“Early detection can mean all the difference in the world,” he said. “And if my encouragement can lead you to get checked out by your doctor sooner than later and can possibly help even just one of you, well, this little journey that I’m on is all going to be worth it, because there’s a lot of things to live for, so many things for you to look forward to.”

While the third season of Apple TV’s Ted Lasso earned a show-best 21 Emmy nominations, it left some fans flat.

However, show star and co-creator Jason Sudeikis isn’t hearing it.

TV Line got a peek at Believe: The Untold Story Behind Ted Lasso, the Show That Kicked Its Way Into Our Hearts, an oral history of the footy phenomenon, in which author Jeremy Egner asked Sudeikis and company about some fans’ gripes. 

Specifically, that the third — and potentially last — season was “unfocused,” and its beloved cast was “scattered into different storylines.”

But Sudeikis kicked back: “Much like live theater, the show, especially Season 3, was asking the audience to be an active participant. Some people want to do that, some people don’t. Some people want to judge — they don’t want to be curious.” 

He continued, “I’ll never understand people who will go on talking about something so brazenly that they, in my opinion, clearly don’t understand. And God bless ’em for it; it’s not their fault. They don’t have imaginations and they’re not open to the experience of what it’s like to have one.”

Sudeikis insists of the characters, “Everybody’s in better shape than when they started. Like a good Boy or Girl Scout at a campsite, we left it better than we found it. And if you don’t see that in that show, then I don’t know what show you’re watching.”

As for a fourth season of the hit show, it remains to be seen if the cast returns to the pitch.

John Krasinski is People‘s Sexiest Man Alive 2024.

The magazine made the announcement for its annual Sexiest Man Alive issue, which includes an interview with the actor exclusive to People.
 
Upon hearing the news that he was named Sexiest Man Alive, the actor told People that he thought he was “being punked.”
 
“Just immediate blackout,” he said. “Zero thoughts. Other than maybe I’m being punked. That’s not how I wake up usually, thinking, ‘Is this the day that I’ll be asked to be Sexiest Man Alive?’ And yet it was the day you guys did it. You really raised the bar for me.”
 
In his interview with the magazine, he talked about his life as an actor, including his roles as Jim Halpert from The Office, and his work in A Quiet Place, which he co-wrote, directed and starred in with his wife, actress Emily Blunt.
 
Krasinski said working with Blunt was “one of the most thrilling processes I’ve ever had, because I’d never worked with Emily.”

The actor said that he met Blunt in 2008 in a restaurant and as soon as he shook her hand, he said he “just knew” that she was the one.
 
When he told Blunt that he was named Sexiest Man Alive, he said she was “very excited.”
 
“There was a lot of joy involved in me telling her,” he said.
 
They’ve been married for 14 years and share two daughters: Hazel, 10, and Violet, 8.
 
“It’s a phenomenal thing to get to be in this family and be a dad,” he added. “It’s changed my life completely.”
