Julia Schlaepfer on being Harrison Ford, Helen Mirren’s daughter-in-law in ‘1923’

Lo Smith/Paramount+

The Dutton family is facing new challenges in season 2 of the Yellowstone prequel series, 1923.

Harrison Ford and Helen Mirren lead the Western drama series, which drops new episodes every week on Paramount+. Julia Schlaepfer co-stars as Alexandra, daughter-in-law to Ford’s Jacob Dutton and Mirren’s Cara Dutton.

Schlaepfer told ABC Audio that it’s “unbelievable” to work with both Ford and Mirren.

“As an actor, that’s the dream. To be able to just be around these people, let alone develop relationships with them off set,” Schlaepfer said. “I’m one lucky girl, that’s for sure. I feel so honored. They are the coolest people in the world, and I can’t believe the company I’m in, I really cannot.”

Ford, in particular, “has the best sense of humor,” Schlaepfer said.

“He asked me for my autograph once, and then I gave it to him and he curled it up into a ball and threw it in the trash,” she continued. “I love him. That’s who he is. He’s the funniest person alive. It’s so much fun. I have the best time with them.”

After Alexandra was separated from her husband Spencer, played by Brandon Sklenar, last season, she’s spent the beginning of season 2 finding her way home to him. Schlaepfer thinks Alex’s journey is beautiful.

“She made a choice to leave her family behind, and leave that kind of caged life behind and follow her heart. And she made a commitment. She’s a married woman, and she chose this. She chose this life. And she loves Spencer so much,” Schlaepfer said. “It just drives her all the way there. There is nothing that she wouldn’t do to be reunited with the people that she loves.”

Kieran Culkin’s wife jokes about ’empty baby pacts’ he mentioned in Oscars speech

Monica Schipper/Getty Images

Kieran Culkin‘s wife Jazz Charton is poking fun at Culkin’s acceptance speech after he won the best supporting actor award at the 2025 Oscars.

On Tuesday, Charton joked about her role in motivating Culkin to his Oscar win after Culkin, in his acceptance speech, reminded his wife about her promise to have a fourth child with him if he won an Oscar.

“Okay okay hear me out – making empty baby pacts may seem foolish but it’s clearly been a great motivator,” Charton wrote in the caption of an Instagram post. “Would he have come this far if I hadn’t kept promising him more kids if he won awards?….. Probably. But who’s to say?…”

Charton posted the funny caption alongside images of her and her husband at the awards show.

In his speech on Sunday, Culkin, who brought home the best supporting actor award for his moving role in A Real Pain, said about a year ago, his wife told him they could have a third child after he won an award, though Culkin said that he really wanted four children.

“I turned to her and said, ‘Really, I want four.’ And she turned to me — I swear to god this happened … and said, ‘I will give you four when you win an Oscar,” Culkin said onstage at the time, adding, “I held my hand out, she shook it, and I have not brought it up once until just now.”

He finished his speech by speaking directly to his wife, who was sitting in the audience, saying, “I love you. I’m really sorry I did this again. And let’s get cracking on those kids. What do you say?”

Culkin and Charton have been married since 2013. The couple currently have two children together.

Stanley Tucci hosts celebs for dinner in new web series ‘Cards on the Table’

Matt Holyoak

Conclave star Stanley Tucci is almost as famous for his love of food as he is for his acting, so who wouldn’t want to attend one of his dinner parties? That’s the concept behind his new web series, Cards on the Table.

Produced by the footwear brand Allbirds, the four-episode series features Tucci getting together for a dinner party with three celebrities, a different group every episode. Among them: Sophie Turner, Queer Eye’s Tan France, Henry Golding, Molly Ringwald, Spice Girls Mel C and comedian Hasan Minhaj.

But it’s not just 20 minutes of stars eating. To spice up the conversation, Tucci and the guests answer questions from a deck of “discussion cards,” which have been written for the series by Dr. Orna Guralnik of Showtime’s Couples Therapy. In the first episode, Tucci is appalled and disgusted by Tan’s answer to the prompt “describe in detail a sandwich from your childhood.”

Millie Bobby Brown claps back at critics over comments about her appearance: ‘I’ve had enough’

Millie Bobby Brown is standing up to critics who have commented on her appearance throughout her career — and she’s making it clear she’s not here for the negativity.

In a candid video shared to Instagram on Monday, the Stranger Things star, 21, addressed ongoing scrutiny over how her look has changed since she first stepped into the spotlight as a child.

“I started in this industry when I was 10 years old,” Brown said. “I grew up in front of the world, and for some reason, people can’t seem to grow with me. Instead, they act like I’m supposed to stay frozen in time, like I should still look the way I did on Stranger Things season 1. And because I don’t, I’m now a target.”

Brown went on to specifically call out articles and headlines that she said were “amplifying” that criticism, rather than questioning why adults were “mocking a young woman’s appearance.”

“This isn’t journalism. This is bullying,” she added.

“Let’s do better,” she said. “Not just for me, but for every young girl who deserves to grow up without fear of being torn apart for simply existing.”

The actress’s message appeared to resonate with her fans, many of whom applauded her for speaking out against the unrealistic beauty standards often placed on women, especially those who grow up in the public eye.

In February Brown showed off a brand-new blond hair look that captured the attention of fans. She’s since made several appearances showing off not only her hair color, but a new style to match.

Brown donned a sparkling gown with a bustier top and draping at the hip for the premiere of Netflix’s The Electric State on Feb. 24 in LA. The ensemble included a structured bolero, and the actress wore her hair in a soft, curled updo with full bangs. She finished the look with long, crystal-covered nails and sparkling jewelry.

Brown also caught the attention of many at the 2025 BRIT Awards, wearing a belted chainmail gown that included a deep, draped neckline and a hood.

Charlie Cox, Vincent D’Onofrio on bringing ‘Daredevil: Born Again’ to life

Giovanni Rufino

Charlie Cox is back as Matt Murdock in the new series Daredevil: Born Again.

The series, which premieres Tuesday on Disney+, finds Cox back as the same character he previously played on the Marvel Television Netflix series Daredevil. Also returning is Vincent D’Onofrio, who reprises his role as Kingpin in the new action-adventure crime drama.

Both actors spoke to ABC Audio during the 2024 Disney Upfront about what it means to get to return to the characters they know and love.

“I’m still kind of pinching myself a little bit. It’s amazing that we’re able to play these characters 10 years later and kind of start again as well, which is a bizarre concept. We feel so grateful to still be able to play these characters and still be in this show. We absolutely love it,” Cox said.

D’Onofrio agreed, saying that the journey with their characters has been “quite an adventure” and that the support from Marvel in making this new show has been “quite something.”

“They believed in us, we believed in them, and they wanted to make a great show. And we just kept working at it and working at it and working at it. Hopefully the audience thinks it’s a great show,” D’Onofrio said.

Cox said pretending he hates D’Onofrio continues to be “harder and harder.”

“It’s more of an acting challenge, which is fun,” Cox said, before detailing what the collaboration with Marvel has been like in making this new series.

“I was kind of blown away by the collaboration. You think with a machine that big and that well-oiled that you’re just told what to do and you go ahead and do it,” Cox said. “Right from the top, Kevin Feige all the way down, they’re so interested in our opinions and listening to our ideas and incorporating them. It’s really amazing and just makes the whole process more enjoyable.”

Disney is the parent company of Marvel and ABC News.

Mikey Madison, Sean Baker on ‘Anora”s five Oscar wins: ‘A huge honor’

PATRICK T. FALLON/AFP via Getty Images

Anora was the big winner at the 97th Academy Awards ceremony on Sunday.

The independent, Neon-distributed film, directed by Sean Baker, took home the biggest award of the evening with best picture. It also won best actress, best director, best editing and best original screenplay.

After the ceremony, Baker and the film’s star, Mikey Madison, spoke to press backstage about how surreal it was for the film to have won five Oscars.

“I never thought anything like this would happen in my life,” Madison said. “I love making movies and I’ve dreamed of being an actress that would be able to be in a film like Anora my entire career as an actress. It’s a huge honor, one that I think will soak in later down the line, hopefully.”

The film follows a young sex worker from Brooklyn who marries the son of a Russian oligarch after a whirlwind romance. While speaking to press after his four Oscar wins, Baker said he thinks sex work should be decriminalized.

“It’s our oldest profession, yet it has an incredible, unfair stigma applied to it,” Baker said. “What I’ve been trying to do with my films is sort of chip away at that very unfair stigma. Personally, I think it should be decriminalized, and I guess through my work, through hopefully humanizing my characters that are usually seen as perhaps caricatures in most film and television, it will help do that.”

‘Wicked’ costume designer Paul Tazewell reflects on historic Oscar win

Disney/Gavin Bond

Wicked costume designer Paul Tazewell is reflecting on his historic Oscar win.

Tazewell, who became the first Black man to win an Oscar for costume design on Sunday night, took to Instagram on Monday and shared how the recognition has been his “North Star.”

“Winning the Oscar for Wicked is the highest point of my life,” he captioned the post. “It is my privilege to be the first Black Man to receive an Academy Award for Outstanding Costumes.”

He continued, “I have evolved into that inspiring figure that I had been longing to emulate as a developing designer. I receive this beautiful recognition with immense pride and I dedicate it to everyone who has the dream to fly.”

During his acceptance speech, Tazewell acknowledged how he is the first Black man to win an Oscar for best costume design.

Upon mentioning that, many in the audience rose to their feet and gave him a round of applause, including Colman Domingo, Cynthia Erivo, Ariana Grande and Rachel Zegler.

In the Oscars press room, Tazewell spoke about the significance of his win and what it will mean for those who want to follow his path.

“This is the pinnacle of my career,” he said. “I’ve been designing costumes for over 35 years. Much has been on Broadway and now into film. And the whole way through, there was never a Black male designer that I saw that I could follow, that I could see as inspiration. To realize that that’s actually me, it becomes a Wizard of Oz moment.”

He continued, “You know, it’s like there’s no place like home. So to come back to the inspiration being inside of me is really remarkable.”

Adrien Brody sets record for longest Oscar speech ever

Disney/Stewart Cook

Adrien Brody made history with his best actor Oscar win for The Brutalist Sunday night, setting the record for longest Oscar acceptance speech ever.

His speech ran five minutes and 40 seconds – way over the allotted 45 seconds winners get for their speeches. According to Guinness World Records, the previous record holder was Greer Garson, who spoke for five minutes and 30 seconds when she won for Mrs. Miniver in 1943.

The broadcast tried to play Brody off with music, but he wouldn’t have it.

“Turn the music off!” he said. “I’ve done this before. Thank you. It’s not my first rodeo, but I will be brief.”

Brody previously won best actor in 2003 for The Pianist, and they tried to play him off that time, as well. During that speech, he said, “One second, please. One second. Cut it out. I got one shot at this. I didn’t say more than five names, I don’t think.”
