On Wednesday, Netflix dropped the hard-hitting trailer to the second part of the sixth season of Cobra Kai.
The drama shifts overseas, to Barcelona, and the international competition called the Sekai Taikai “where Miyagi-Do will face new challenges and old enemies as they fight to become world champions.”
The tease continues, “Can they stay united as internal rivalries bubble back to the surface?”
The trailer shows the international match-ups don’t go well for Daniel LaRusso (Ralph Macchio) and Johnny Lawrence (William Zabka)’s Miyagi-Do team, and of course, looming over their team’s heads is Martin Kove‘s Kreese. “Some of us have nothing to lose,” he hisses at Daniel.
Marvel Studios has dropped a tantalizing sizzle reel of its forthcoming projects bound for Disney+.
Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man, an animated series, starts things off on Jan. 29. The show teases Peter Parker in his early days as the titular hero.
Daredevil: Born Again had been retooled into a continuation of the gritty, acclaimed Netflix series Daredevil. Again starring Charlie Cox as the blind lawyer Matt Murdock, who spends his nights as the red-suited vigilante Daredevil, the show also brings back Vincent D’Onofrio as hulking villain Wilson Fisk/Kingpin and Jon Bernthal as Frank Castle/The Punisher.
That series debuts on March 4.
We also see Dominique Thorne back in action as Riri Williams, the genius inventor from Black Panther: Wakanda Forever who creates a power suit as the heroine Ironheart.Anthony Ramos plays the heavy, Parker Robbins aka the Hood. Ironheart debuts June 24.
Also included is a glimpse at Eyes of Wakanda, an animated series about the secretive country’s War Dogs and their mission to find stolen vibranium, debuting on Aug. 6, and a peek of the animated series Marvel Zombies — Marvel Television’s first mature-rated animated toon, timed for October 2025.
Also in the reel is the first real look at Wonder Man starring Yahya Abdul-Mateen II from Aquaman. Unlike the comics, here his Simon Williams is seen auditioning to play the role of Wonder Man — with a questionable assist from Trevor Slattery, Ben Kingsley‘s washed-up actor from Iron Man 3 and Shang-Chi. That show’s due out in December 2025.
Also in the lineup is a tease of the third and final season of the multiverse-spanning acclaimed animated series What If…?, debuting on Dec. 22.

Stars making the list this year include Demi Moore, who had a buzzed about role in the horror movie The Substance; The Bear’s Ayo Edebiri; Zendaya, who starred in Challengers and Dune 2 this year; Bridgerton’s Nicola Coughlan; Sing Sing’s Colman Domingo; and Nicole Kidman, who had multiple TV projects out this year and is set to star in the steamy film Babygirl.
Also on the list are Wicked stars Cynthia Erivo, Ariana Grande and Bowen Yang, and Gladiator II stars Pedro Pascal and Denzel Washington.
Jennifer Lopez is on the list as well, thanks to a roller-coaster of a year that saw her release a less-than-successful album and big-bucks documentary, cancel her tour and split with husband Ben Affleck.
The magazine’s People of the Year issue hits newsstands Friday.
Sarah Paulson stars in the new thriller Hold Your Breath, which is now streaming on Hulu. Set in Oklahoma in 1933, when biblical dust storms ravaged the Midwest, the creepy film has Paulson playing a mother grieving the loss of one of her daughters, while trying to keep her two surviving daughters safe amid the apocalyptic setting.
“I love the idea of the backdrop being this part of our country’s history, this hideous storm,” Paulson tells ABC Audio.
With people desperate to keep the dust out of their lungs, they resorted to wearing masks, which draws an eerie parallel to the COVID-19 era, she agreed.
“Our writer, Karrie Crouse, had written the screenplay prior to the pandemic,” Paulson says. “It’s funny how history can repeat itself. And although this was not an airborne illness that was plaguing that part of our country during that time period, it certainly was a harrowing thing.”
As if the dust storms aren’t enough to worry about, there are rumors of a murderous drifter afoot, and those fears come to a head when a mysterious man shows up, played by The Bear‘s Ebon Moss-Bachrach.
“I would watch him read the phone book. I’d watch him walk across the street. I’d watch him do just about anything,” Paulson enthused about the actor.
“And when the filmmakers said, you know, ‘What about Ebon?’ I … just jumped out of my chair. I was like, ‘Yes, yes, yes, please. Yes!'”
She added, “And that was before I got to be on The Bear. So I got to have this experience with him first. It was so, so special.”
