‘Bad Moms’ duo reportedly book ‘Spa Weekend’ for Leslie Mann, Anna Faris and more
Jon Lucas and Scott Moore, the writers behind the blockbuster The Hangover and the writer-directors of the hit Bad Moms, have booked a Spa Weekend with some very funny women.
Deadline reports Mom‘s Anna Faris, Knocked Up‘s Leslie Mann, Always Be My Maybe scene stealer Michelle Buteau and Wedding Crashers‘ Isla Fisher will appear in a girl’s trip comedy called Spa Weekend.
The trade reports the film centers on three friends who take the titular trip — but when Jane, Coco and Sophie’s “trainwreck friend” Mel crashes the party, “the relaxation quickly descends into chaos with hilarious consequences.”
Tom Cruise‘s next death-defying stunt won’t be for a Mission: Impossible movie, but for the 2024 Olympics.
TMZ reports Cruise “quietly” shot a skydiving stunt in March that will be edited into the closing ceremony to the 2024 Games in Paris on Aug. 11.
The gag, to use industry parlance, will serve as a symbolic hand off to the 2028 Games, which will be held in Los Angeles.
The gossip site’s paps caught the superstar performing the Los Angeles segment of the two-part feat back in the spring, but nobody realized it was for the Games.
During the closing ceremony, Cruise will reportedly be seen rappelling down Paris’ Olympic arena, known as the Stade de France, where he’ll acquire the Olympic flag and then hop a plane, from which he’ll skydive to the iconic Hollywood sign.
From there, he’ll be handing off the flag to athletes “including a cyclist, skateboarder and volleyball player,” according to the site.
On Thursday Ryan Reynolds returned to where Deadpool all started for him, San Diego Comic-Con, for a blockbuster event: The Ultimate Deadpool & Wolverine Festival of Life.
His costar Hugh Jackman was there, as well as the movie’s heavy Emma Corrin, director Shawn Levy and Marvel Studios head Kevin Feige — and a capacity crowd of 6,500 fans, Variety says.
So as to avoid spoilers for the attendees in Hall H, five more stars took the stage after a surprise screening, to get their flowers for their crowd-pleasing parts, which remained secret until many outlets decided it was acceptable to out them.
Reynolds and Jackman reflected on fan reaction footage from the 2016 original got at Comic-Con.
“I was the most nervous human being you would ever see,” Reynolds said, according to Variety. “I was stepping into a dream come true in a certain sense, but I remember making that movie for you, and I remember how gratifying it was that everyone else liked it too.”
He added of Jackman, “I’ll never forget this moment, because this a****** was backstage.”
For his part, Jackman recalled “this chant that started up: ‘One more time, one more time.’ … I found [the] stage manager, and I said … ‘If you don’t play the f******* footage again, they are going to tear Hall H to the ground.'”
Reynolds then played a video snippet from Leslie Uggams, who plays Blind Al in the Deadpool movies, who said, “Can we skip the bulls*** and just show the damn movie?”
After the movie, five other stars appeared, fresh from their secret appearances in the film, including Dafne Keen, who was shown in the final trailer reprising as X-23/Laura.
As for the identity of the other four, well … Deadpool & Wolverine is now playing at a theater near you.
Marvel Studios is owned by Disney, the parent company of ABC News.
Recording artist and actor Bad Bunny has taken the Bullet Train to work with Adam Sandler.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, the star will join Sandler for the anticipated follow-up, but his role is still unknown.
For that matter, nothing really is known about the project, save original stars Julie Bowen — now an alumna of Modern Family — and Christopher McDonald will both return from the 1996 original with Sandler.
Bowen played Virginia Venit, Happy’s love interest in the film, while the latter played Shooter McGavin, the pro golf player who was the hockey player-turned-golf pro’s nemesis in the original.
Also, as reported, Sandler confirmed that Happy Gilmore superfan Travis Kelce will be in the movie, but again, it’s not known who he’ll be playing.
Bad Bunny last appeared in film opposite Brad Pitt in director David Leitch‘s 2022 action comedy Bullet Train.
Earlier this year, he bowed out of a Sony Pictures plan to play the Marvel Comics luchador superhero El Muerto on the big screen.
